How much does it cost to rent a boat in Marbella?

Updated July 2026 · 6 min read

A day aboard a private boat along the Costa del Sol off Marbella

So, how much does it cost to rent a boat in Marbella? On a private skippered charter, prices run from €1,200 for two hours to €3,000 for the full day. But the number on its own tells you very little: what really matters is what that rate includes, how many guests come aboard and whether the boat is yours alone or shared with strangers. In this guide we give you honest, transparent 2026 prices — no small print — so you know exactly what to expect.

Boat hire prices in Marbella in 2026

These are our rates for a 100% private charter aboard the De Antonio D50, with a professional skipper included and departure from Puerto Banús:

DurationIdeal forPrice from
2 hoursAperitivo, a quick swim, a short sunset€1,200
4 hours (half day)Coves, lunch on board, a celebration€1,800
8 hours (full day)A full day at sea, Gibraltar€3,000

Every rate is for the whole boat, not per person, for groups of up to 10 guests. You book, and the boat is yours alone. Split across a full group, the maths is friendlier than it first looks: a half-day charter for eight friends works out at around €225 each — a memorable day at sea for roughly the price of lunch and a few drinks in Puerto Banús.

What's included in the price?

One of the reasons a price from one operator isn't comparable to another is what sits inside it. Our rate includes, at no extra cost:

The only optional extras are the touches you choose yourself: catering, décor for a marriage proposal, a photographer, or a longer route such as the day trip to Gibraltar, where the additional fuel is quoted separately.

An honest comparison: marketplaces vs a private charter

If you search the big boating marketplaces you'll spot listings "from €60 per person" and wonder why we're talking about €1,200. The answer is simple: they aren't the same thing.

The lowest prices almost always mean shared trips — you board a boat with strangers, on a fixed timetable and a set route — or bareboat hire you have to skipper yourself. For a group of eight, "€60 per person" is €480… but you're sharing the deck, the cool box and the music with another group you've never met.

A premium private charter changes the experience completely: the boat is yours, you decide the route and the timing, there's a skipper who knows every cove, and you get the exclusivity of a brand-new designer yacht. We don't compete on price; we compete on making the day perfect.

It's also worth reading the headline figure carefully. A marketplace "from" price is usually the lowest midweek, low-season, shortest-trip rate — and rarely includes fuel, VAT or a skipper. Once you add those back in, the gap narrows quickly, and you're left comparing a genuinely private day with a shared one. For a special occasion, that difference is the whole point.

What pushes the price up or down

Season

July and August are the busiest months, so it's worth booking weeks ahead. From October to May there's far more availability and better rates: if you have any flexibility, an off-season charter is an excellent, more affordable idea, and the light on a calm winter morning is something special.

Duration

The hourly price falls the longer the trip: a full day works out far better per hour than a couple of hours on their own. If you'd like to swim in several coves, the half day is the sweet spot — perfect for a relaxed dolphin-watching loop with time to anchor and swim.

Extras and the occasion

A basic sunset tour fits neatly into two hours; a celebration with catering, décor and a photographer lifts the budget but remains a fraction of what the same event would cost on land.

Frequently asked questions about prices

Is the price per person or per boat?

Always per boat. You book the whole charter for your group (up to 10 guests) and pay a single rate, whether there are 4 of you or 10.

Is a deposit required?

We don't ask the guest for a security deposit: our skipper handles the boat. You simply pay the agreed rate.

What happens if the sea is rough?

If conditions make it unsafe to sail, we reschedule the trip or give you a full refund. You'll never lose your money to the weather.

Shall we plan your day at sea?

Friendly advice with no obligation, confirmed in under 2 hours.
