It is a journey for those who want more than an afternoon in the bay, rewarded with two continents on the horizon and some of Europe's richest wildlife waters. Everything is 100% private, with your own skipper, and the pace is yours.
The route to the Rock
We slip out of Puerto Banús in the morning and set a westerly course. The coastline unfolds slowly: the beaches of Estepona, the low dunes of Sotogrande, then the land rising toward the Strait. As the miles pass you feel the sea change character, the swell of the open Atlantic making itself known as the Rock of Gibraltar grows on the horizon. This is a corridor for marine life, and it is not unusual to share it with dolphins riding the bow wave or, in season, larger cetaceans near the current line.
Arrival at the Bay of Gibraltar, with the Rock towering above and North Africa visible across the water, is the high point before we turn for the return leg to Puerto Banús. One practical point: this is a long full-day route, so the extra fuel for the additional distance is quoted separately, on top of the base full-day rate rather than included in it.

The Strait of Gibraltar is one of the Mediterranean's most dramatic seascapes, the narrow gateway where two seas and two continents almost touch. On a clear day the Moroccan coast and the mountains of the Rif stand out beyond the shipping lanes, while the Rock dominates the bay. These waters are famous for their dolphin watching, and depending on the season you may also encounter pilot whales, orcas or even sperm whales near the Strait. Wildlife is wild, so nothing is guaranteed, but few day trips offer better odds.

This charter suits adventurers and confident groups who genuinely want a full day on the water rather than a quick swim stop. Expect a longer, more open passage than our shorter coastal tours. Bring sun protection, a light layer for the breezier stretches, and a valid passport or national ID for everyone on board, as you are travelling toward the Gibraltar frontier. How long does the trip take?
It is a full-day charter of around 8 hours, departing and returning to Puerto Banús. The exact timing depends on the sea, the wind and how far west you would like to explore.
How much does it cost, and is the fuel included?
The full-day charter starts from €3,000, with your skipper and standard-route fuel included. Because Gibraltar is a long round trip, the additional fuel for the extra distance is quoted separately on top of the base rate.
Can we land on the Rock of Gibraltar?
Our charter is a sailing experience along the coastline towards Gibraltar with swim and snorkel stops. Landing on the Rock and going ashore is not included, and the route always depends on sea conditions and safety.
Will we see dolphins or whales?
The waters between Marbella and the Strait are among the best in Europe for cetaceans. Dolphins are a common sight, and seasonally you may spot pilot whales, orcas or even sperm whales near the Strait, though sightings can never be guaranteed.
