How to plan a hen party boat trip in Marbella

Updated June 2026 · 6 min read

Group of friends celebrating on board a private yacht during a hen party in Marbella

Planning a hen party boat Marbella trip is probably the best decision you can make as maid of honour or as one of the bride's closest friends. Forget crowded bars and a night no one quite remembers: this is a yacht just for your group, music turned up, a swim in turquoise water and a picture-perfect sunset with a glass in hand. In this guide we walk you through, step by step, how to build the perfect plan: timing, music, drinks, catering, how many of you there are and what it costs, with no last-minute surprises.

Why a boat is the best hen do plan

Think about it: on land you have to book a table, move from place to place, queue and compete with everyone else for a good atmosphere. On a boat, you create the atmosphere. The charter is 100% private, so no one outside your group comes on board and you can be as loud and playful as the occasion deserves.

It is also the one activity that packs everything into a single plan: sun, swimming, incredible photos, cocktails, dancing and that sunset moment that turns any hen do into an unforgettable one. If you want to see how we put it together, take a look at our hen party boat experience, planned down to the last detail for the bride and her group.

The perfect plan, step by step

There is no single right way to do it, but after organising dozens of hen parties we have landed on a formula that rarely fails. Here it is.

The ideal timing

Our advice is to book a mid-afternoon departure, around 5pm or 6pm in summer. That way you string together the brightest hours for swimming with the sunset, which is the perfect finish. If your group is a real party crowd and you want a full day of beach, sun and swimming, start at midday and stretch the plan right through to sundown.

The sunset moment

Sunset over the bay of Marbella is pure cinema and deserves top billing on the hen do. Save the last hour of light to bring out the champagne, raise a toast and take the photos that will fill the group album. A sunset yacht tour is the perfect excuse to live that moment with the bride at the centre of it all.

The swim stops

Halfway through the trip, the skipper anchors in one of the best coves in the area so you can jump in. A floating lilo, music in the background and a swim full of laughter: it is the most fun part of the day. If you want to know where we stop, have a look at the best coves to anchor near Marbella.

The toast to the bride

Every group needs its headline moment. Set aside some time, whether as you set sail or during the sunset, for the official toast: a short speech, glasses in the air and that feeling that the hen do was worth every minute. It is the moment the bride will remember for years.

Music, drinks and catering on board

The soundtrack is all yours. The boat has a Bluetooth sound system, so put your playlist together in advance (a collaborative one works best, so every friend can add her track) and enjoy. No relying on a venue DJ: out here, you are in charge.

When it comes to drinks, you can bring your own with no corkage fee: cava, soft drinks, ice and anything else you fancy. We provide water and ice on board. And if you would rather not carry anything, we can arrange the catering: from a sharing board and fresh fruit to cocktails with canapés. You decide how much to delegate and we take care of the rest.

Group size and price

On board the De Antonio D50 you travel up to 10 guests, the perfect size for the bride's inner circle. The best part: the price is for the whole boat, not per person, so the more of you there are, the better value it works out.

Ideas to surprise the bride
