Search for boat rental in Fuengirola and you will nearly always land on the same thing: the excursion boats leaving the seafront and the marina. Individual tickets, a fixed timetable, forty people aboard and a route already decided before you step on. Nothing wrong with that for what it is — but it is not a private charter.
This guide is about the other option: the whole boat for your group, with a home port in Puerto Banús, about thirty minutes from Fuengirola.
A shared boat and the whole boat are not the same product
The difference is not the price per head, it is the plan. On a shared trip the boat does not stop where you want, does not anchor when the water looks good, and does not turn back when the group has had enough. On a private charter, it does.

- Route to suit: decided with the skipper according to the wind and to what you feel like doing.

Fuengirola to Puerto Banús: about thirty minutes
It is around 40 km. On the AP-7 that is a good 30 minutes; on the coastal A-7, considerably more in summer, because it threads through every town on the coast. Parking is inside Puerto Banús, right by the pontoon.
How does departure work?
Home port: Puerto Banús. Departure from Fuengirola available on request. The boat is berthed in Puerto Banús and that is where the charter starts by default. If you would rather board in Fuengirola, write to us with your date and we will look into it: it is something we assess case by case, not something we can take for granted in advance.
In practice the normal thing is to drive to Puerto Banús: half an hour and the boat is waiting. And there is a sailing reason for it, not just a logistical one — it is the next section.
The easterly rules this stretch of coast
Fuengirola sits on the eastern side of the bay, and that is the side that takes the levante, the easterly wind that blows here often. With a strong levante the sea between Fuengirola and Calahonda chops up and anchoring stops being comfortable.
Leaving from Puerto Banús that problem has an immediate fix: the skipper checks the forecast in the morning and, if the easterly is in, heads west — Guadalmina, El Saladillo, San Pedro — where the water stays sheltered and flat. From a port at the eastern end of the coast, that same move costs you half the charter in transit.
With a westerly it is the other way round and the good side is Cabopino and the Artola dunes. Which is why leaving from the middle of the coast is a genuine advantage: there is always a good side within reach.

There is no fleet to choose from: there is one boat, a 15-metre De Antonio D50 built in 2026 with 2× Mercury V12 600 hp. Which means that when you book, you already know exactly which boat you are getting, who is skippering it and what condition it is in — precisely what you do not know when you book through a listings platform.
It takes up to 10 people comfortably: swim platform aft, bow sunbed and an interior cabin. A professional skipper is included in every charter, so no passenger needs a boat licence.

Rates are for the whole boat, for groups of up to 10 people. They include the skipper, fuel for the usual route, insurance, paddle surf, snorkelling gear, light catering, water and soft drinks, a complimentary bottle of champagne and VAT.
